Recognizing Satisfaction

It is fascinating to me how generational influence effects us so deeply. I am sure that most of you grew up like I did where the idea of "waste not want not" was instilled. I come from generations of farmers that came from nothing and worked their fingers to the bone. Food was a scarcity for my grandparents growing up. I am sure that is why they taught my parents to not waist, "clean your plate," "one persons trash is another one's treasure." etc.
As generations thrive and there is a flourish of abundance we have slowly forgotten about true hardship.
The fast paced life of convince and technology that we have evolved in has made this generation set their belief systems to say: everything tangible is disposable. Our children have no problem throwing anything away because most of what they know was built to be discarded.
BUT I am blogging about our Health not how far the pendulum swings now. (see the previous blog about balance).
Which brings me to my point: I make my self a healthy breakfast yesterday morning and after enjoying half of the meal I noticed that my hunger was satisfied.
I have acknowledged this feeling many times in the past but will tell you that I almost always continue eating. Perhaps it's that thought of "waist not want not." Maybe it's the instant gratification because what I am eating tastes so good. Sometimes it is me recognizing the effort in which I or someone else has put into the preparation of that meal that I feel I am disrespecting by not finishing.....
Let me just say~
As I raked the remainder of my breakfast into the garbage I felt SO Good.
It felt like freedom.
I sense a new and exciting "good habit" coming my way!
Because I recognized that my hungry, my mind, my body was satisfied~ in that moment discarding what remained was definitely a step in the right direction for my physical freedom.
Try to Recognize Your Satisfaction today.
